NSW Health and a number of other institutions have been imposing vaccine reporting and testing requirements on students and potential employees. They have a mistaken view that somehow general practices are expected to know past histories and vaccine serial numbers from vaccine encounters that the general practices did not perform.
Somehow NSW Health and the potential employers also feel that the cost and time for chasing old records, performing blood tests and doing boosters should be met by the students, potential employees or the general practice itself. This is false. If NSW Health or a potential employer demand certain tests, vaccines or information, that is something that they should be doing at their expense, or making it clear to you that you are to fund those things yourself as a condition of employment or study.
Whilst the doctors and nurses of Warrumbungle Medical Centre do our best to help, we cannot be expected to know things or keep records of vaccines that we have not performed.
We can assist you as follows:
*giving you a transcript of vaccines we have given you at this office;
*ordering tests that can check your immunity;
*advising you what vaccines you may require to comply with your study or employment, based on what records we have and you supply to us. We won't be able to assist by filling in forms that simply copy information in your blue book or our vaccine transcript. Your vaccines that were not done here may have been done at a community health centre, another medical practice or at school. We do not hold records of those encounters and it is not our responsibility to be finding this information on your behalf or the behalf of your potential employer. Vaccine encounters outside of Warrumbungle Medical Centre may appear in one or more of the following locations:
*your NSW Health "blue book";
*the Australian Immunisation Register; https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/services/medicare/australian-immunisation-register
*another medical practice
